The month of Ramadan has many virtues and characteristics that make it distinct from all months
The virtues of the holy month of Ramadan are many for mankind. Its beginning is mercy, its middle is forgiveness, and its end is freedom from hell, and the reward and rewards are doubled in it. The reward for worship and doing good in it is not like the reward in other months. It is the month in which God Almighty revealed the Noble Qur’an to the heart of our master Muhammad, according to the Almighty’s saying: “The month Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion.” Among the virtues of the month of Ramadan is that it includes the Night of Destiny, which the Qur’an has stated is “better than a thousand months.” The faithful Messenger Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, told us that whoever performs it, God will forgive his previous sins, and the Muslim’s interest during this period increases in reading and studying the Qur’an.
Fasting during the month of Ramadan 2024 every year is the fast imposed on Muslims, unanimously, and it is one of the five pillars of Islam, and the best type of fasting. According to the Holy Hadith, with the wording: “My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have imposed upon him,” since performing the obligatory duties is the most beloved of deeds to God. It was imposed in the second year of the Prophet’s migration. Al-Bahuti said: “It was imposed in the second year of the migration, according to consensus. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, fasted nine Ramadans, according to consensus.” The basic principle regarding the obligation of fasting is: “O you who have believed, decreed for you is fasting...” The verse then designated fasting the month of Ramadan with a verse: “So whoever of you witnesses the month, let him fast it” and the hadith: “Islam is built on five.” He mentioned among them: “Fasting Ramadan.” The month of Ramadan must be fasted either by sighting the crescent, or by completing the month of Shaban for thirty days when it is not possible to sight the crescent of Ramadan. It is obligatory for every Muslim, obligated, adult, sane, able to fast, healthy, resident, and without excuse. It is only valid for a Muslim, and conditions are required for its validity, including: the woman’s purity from menstruation and postpartum. Ramadan fasting is concerned with the specificity of the virtue of time from the rising of the second dawn, until sunset. Fasting Ramadan expiates sins for those who fast it out of faith and seeking reward.
